On Thursday, October 19, 2023, EC marked an enormous milestone with the transfer of 1,400 acres of its property in the Pinchot State Forest. The tract runs along Wilkes-Barre Mountain in Hanover and Newport Townships and includes the Hanover Reservoir. We know it’s a place much-loved by many! With this sale, EC is just over 600 acres away of meeting our goal to commit 10,000 acres of former coal-company land to recreation and greenspace.
