Four college students are outdoors participating in a PEC tree planting along a riverbank. Two are working on planting a tree, one is shoveling compost from a green wheelbarrow, and one holds a shovel on the muddy, soil-covered ground.
In November 2012, the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, in partnership with Pennsylvania American Water, organized a tree planting project along Huntsville Creek at the water company’s property in Trucksville. Earth Conservancy contributed compost, and King’s College students volunteered to plant the eleven trees. The project was proposed in the Wyoming Valley Rivers Conservation Plan, developed by PEC, to help with erosion along the stream.
