In June, the Penn-Anthracite Section of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME) announced the election of the 2024-2025 officers at its meetings at the Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum. Among the appointments was Jason Tarnowski, PLS, as 2nd Vice-Chair. Tarnowski serves as EC’s Project & Operations Manager, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, His appointment represents a significant recognition of his contributions to the mining and conservation sectors.

The SME Penn-Anthracite Section continues to play a crucial role in advancing professional development, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the region’s mining community. We congratulate Tarnowski and the entire leadership team.
