Earth Conservancy was proud to sponsor Junior Achievement’s “Yes! Day” for 7th and 8th grade students from the Nanticoke Area School District – a full morning of activities designed to help students explore personal finance, career readiness, and the many paths open to them after graduation.

EC staff members – Jason Tarnowski and Elizabeth Hughes – also volunteered during the day, discussing the different levels of education and training needed for various jobs, from skilled trades and technical certifications to college degrees and beyond. More importantly, conversations centered on the idea that there’s no single path to a successful career. Each student’s journey is unique, and every role – whether in construction, business, science, or the arts – contributes to the well-being of the community and local economy.

What was especially great was the chance to connect those lessons to Earth Conservancy’s own work. From engineers and equipment operators to accountants and educators, it truly takes many talents to achieve our mission. We loved helping students see how their interests and skills could grow into meaningful careers.
