Earth Conservancy was proud to once again sponsor Junior Achievement‘s YES! Day, this time with 7th grade students at the Hanover Area Junior High School.

Four EC staff members volunteered their time to help facilitate the day’s activities, engaging students in conversations about the wide range of opportunities available to them as they look ahead to the future.

Terry Ostrowski and Jason Tarnowski facilitated “Am I Qualified?”, which introduced students to the education, skills, and experience different careers require. Meanwhile, Geoff Shaw and Elizabeth Hughes oversaw the “Career Clusters” activity, which invited students to take stock of their own interests and discover how those passions can connect to real jobs and career paths.

One of the most important things we tried to impart was that meaningful work comes in many forms. At EC, our small team draws on a wide range of interests and expertise – from engineering, surveying, and environmental science to finance, education, marketing, and community development – all working together toward a single mission. We’re grateful for the chance to play a small role in helping these students imagine what’s possible.

A big thank you to Junior Achievement for organizing another incredible day, and to the Hanover Area School District for welcoming us into their school.
