Earth Conservancy is pleased to announce it has received a $734,600 Growing Greener grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for Phase II of its Bliss Bank reclamation. The project will reclaim another 54 acres of the mine-scarred property that spans the City of Nanticoke and Hanover Township, part of which is pictured at left. We thank all the municipalities, organizations, and people who have lent their support toward this initiative, especially State Senator John Yudichak and State Representative Gerald Mullery. We also are grateful for the Growing Greener program, which has had an enormous impact on our ability to carry out our reclamation and watershed protection work.  The grant will be matched with funds from EC and the EPA’s Brownfields Cleanup program.
